Our founder

Originally from Ecuador, Coach Goya has a lifelong passion for the sport, having played throughout high school and club team. After relocating to the US, he started his coaching career and completed his college education. Coach Goya began coaching in Rome Middle School in 2014, as well as coaching youth teams with Arsenal in Rome, GA. Eventually, he was promoted the Varsity boys coach at Rome High School in 2017. In 2024, he moved to Saint Simon Island and currently teaches Algebra and Geometry at Glynn Academy High School, where he is also the Boys Soccer Head Coach.

Coach Goya holds several coaching certifications, including the USSF "D" Diploma and the Coerver Youth Diploma 1. His coaching career is marked by numerous accomplishments, including an impressive record of 92 wins, 27 losses, and 4 draws during his tenure with the Rome High School boys soccer team. With Arsenal, placed 3rd in the 3v3 Nationals in Foley with his 2010 girls, and also qualify for the 5v5 Nationals in Miami. Also, with over five years of dedicated futsal coaching experience, Coach Goya has consistently developed competitive teams, leading them to success in the Lakepoint Youth Futsal League.

He has also organized and hosted multiple successful soccer summer camps, facilitated international matches, including hosting the Guatemala national team, and conducted college ID camps that attracted over 16 college coaches for player analysis. Coach Goya's dedication to the sport and his commitment to player development make him a valuable addition to the Golden Isles Academy coaching staff.
